I made a post about this on the Discord server, but I think I ought to be more in-depth with my opinion here. And also, because I don't see many people talking about it. Thus, allow me to begin:
Lucky should've killed Blade. Pretty straight-forward and simple. Lucky also should've killed Terror but that's besides the point.
Throughout the books, Blade is Lucky's villain. Blade seems the haunt him, getting closer and closer as the books progress, putting tension into the air as their battle draws near. Sure, Blade killed Wiggle and Fang, but in the end, she's killed a ton of other dogs. What makes Storm so special outside of being a protagonist?
Blade didn't threaten Storm; she threatened the entire Wild Pack, most notably Lucky. By letting Storm fight her out of nowhere, it kills all the buildup between the characters for a stupid battle against Alpha. This peeves me more than it should, but Lucky is all of a sudden destined to kill Alpha because Whine told him so.
Storm should've killed Alpha because he was the reason the pack was oppressive against her, both then and after. He was her battle.
Then again, maybe it's the law over at Erin Hunter's HQ. In Warriors, FIrestar was supposed to have this big climactic battle against Tigerstar. The two bickered and then Tigerstar was killed by a one-off random cat who is all of a sudden, this big bad threat. Or, even better, what if Harry Potter ended with Harry fighting some random dude who killed Voldemort off-screen? Pretty anticlimactic, right?
What I'm trying to say is that Lucky should've killed Blade, end of story. Storm should've killed Alpha. Alright, that's me out. G'bye.
