Chapter Summary[]
Storm's Point of View[]
Storm is lying in the camp, content and drowsy. She heard yelps and squeaks break through the air. She recognizes the sounds as Lucky and Sweet's pups, and one of her eye opened to watch them. A strange, warm feeling filled her chest, realizing watching pups made her happy.
Storm sees that they had recovered from the terror of the Endless Lake, where they almost drowned. She thinks it is because Lucky can make a pup feel so safe, even a pup not his own.
She feels gratitude for Lucky as she remembers how he and Mickey saved her and her litter-brothers when they were tiny and helpless.
Storm feels happy since the atmosphere in the Pack is so reassuring. Many dogs think that Arrow, who had left with Bella, was the traitor. Now that he was gone many dogs were convinced that the traitor was gone.
Storm lifted her head, seeing Snap, the small, tan and white hunt-dog, come towards her. Snap's jaws were full of soft moss. Snap set the moss beside her, saying that her paws looked uncomfortable.
Storm blinked, surprised at her kindness. Though she hadn't noticed, her paws were resting uncomfortably. She half-rose, and re positioned herself, and gives her thanks.
She knew Snap could be short-tempered, and Snap was one of the dogs who suspected the traitor had to be a Fierce Dog.
