Chapter Summary[]
In the middle of the fight with Terror, Lucky runs through the enemy Pack dogs and sees that three dogs, including Terror, have knocked Fiery down. Moon goes to help him, but dogs attack her on her way. Lick attacks Terror to help Fiery. Lucky is not sure whether to let Lick fight -- and try to kill Terror, but then remembers Fiery and runs to help him. Moon manages to throw off her attackers and she and Lucky go to Fiery's side. Fiery has gotten worse from the longpaws giving him the bad water. Moon and Lucky don't know how to help him, but then they are distracted by Lick and Terror's fight. Lick defeats Terror by ripping off his lower jaw, and all of Terror's Pack are confused and run all over in a panic by the soon-to-come death of their Alpha. Lick wants to kill Terror completely, but Lucky instructs her to leave him to his wounds, reassuring her that he won't survive. Lick hopes that Earth-Dog punishes Terror when she takes him. They are both distracted by Moon calling that Fiery is dying.
