Prologue[]
- Lick is trying to sleep in a comfortable nest, but she is awake, worrying about what the Pack thinks of her and her litter-brothers.
- She goes to visit Martha, and reflects on the members of the Pack.
- She finds herself staring into Alpha's cold yellow eyes, and is frightened.
- Lick wonders what life in the Pack would be like if Alpha acted like a father-figure to her and her litter-brothers, and fantasizes about him teaching them to fight, and defending them from Fierce Dogs.
- Then she realizes he thinks that her being a Fierce Dog makes her a bad dog, and that her fantasies will never happen.
- Scared, she keeps going to the dens, hoping to find Martha.
- Instead, she runs into Bella, who invites Lick to sleep next to her.
- Lick feels safe and hopeful with Bella nearby, and finally falls asleep.
Chapter 1[]
- Storm wakes up, thinking wistfully about her life as a pup in the Wild Pack.
- She looks around and remembers that she is now a prisoner in the Wild Pack.
- She listens to her guards, who include her former friends, who now believe that she is the bad dog who had been causing trouble for the Pack.
- She reflects on how Breeze had tricked and betrayed her and the rest of the Pack, and promises that she will never leave the Pack again.
- Storm grimly recognizes the stakes, knowing that she will be killed or blinded if Sweet believes Breeze's lies.
- Sunshine walks in, being friendly and talking with Storm, even though she is not allowed to. Storm feels grateful for the Omega.
- Sunshine tells Storm that not all the dogs are on Breeze's side, and recommends that she just tells the Pack the full truth.
- Chase and Moon come to bring Storm before Alpha and the Pack.
- Storm is uneasy to see that Breeze is still trusted to play with the pups.
- Sweet decides to further investigate both sides' claims, and that Storm will stay in custody until she and Lucky make a decision.
- Breeze appears to be hurting Nibble, and Storm quickly leaps at Breeze, attacking her and throwing her aside.
- The Pack is horrified, and finds this as another reason to condemn Storm.
- Breeze claims that Storm is hallucinating, pretending to feel sorry for her and saying that it isn't her fault.
- Lucky and Mickey force Storm back into her prison.
- Storm thinks in despair that her Fierce Dog nature will doom the Pack.
Chapter 2[]
- Storm discovers someone dug a hole for her to escape.
- Sunshine enters the cave. Storm thinks that she dug the hole, only to find out she didn't.
- Twitch enters, and asks Storm to tell him all she knows.

Epilogue[]
- The epilogue beings with Storm thinking about the Wild Pack's new territory
- The territory is nearly perfect for the Wild Pack
- They have made an agreement with the wolves
- As Storm is thinking, Forest, Earth, and Tough appear from the grass with white-patched hares in their jaws
- As the three dogs joke about hunting, Storm marvels at Tough's growth
- Tough's name had been chosen in honor of his late sister Tufty and of his Fierce Dog heritage
- His brother, Golden, has chosen his name in honor of their Mother-Dog, Bella
- Storm gazes at Sweet and Lucky and notices the grey flecks on Lucky's muzzle
- Storm walks over to Arrow, happy and relieved that he decided to stay in the Wild Pack despite Bella's death
- Arrow and Storm talk about Bella for a short while before heading over to Lucky and Sweet
- Sweet thanks Arrow for leading them to the new territory, then gazes at Storm while commenting that the territory will support them even after she is no longer Alpha
- Storm is slightly surprised when she realizes Sweet had possibly been implying that she would be the next Alpha
- Storm watches the Pack with pride and hopefulness as she thinks about how far they've come
- Even though life in the wild was challenging and would always be challenging, there was always joy, friendship, and hope
