The Golden Deer is a mythological deer mentioned in tales of the Wind-Dogs.[1]

Description[]

The Golden Deer is a mythological deer mentioned in tales of the Wind-Dogs. It is said that the dogs who are to hunt it down are to be blessed with no hunger and a happy pack.

History[]

In the Gathering Darkness arc[]

A Pack Divided []

Alpha tells a story about the Wind-Dogs and the Golden Deer. She explains that while the Wind-Dogs sometimes hunt the Fastest Hare, they mainly chase after the Golden Deer. They hunt the deer across the world, sometimes running so fast that they leave destruction in their wake, while sometimes they run idly, leaving a soft warm breeze. When Long Light ends the Wind-Dogs have caught the Golden Deer, but it runs again at the end of Ice Wind, and the world feels warms once more. While the Wind-Dogs are the only ones who can hunt and capture the true Golden deer, she casts a shadow and if living dogs can run hard and fast they can catch that shadow, and that is when a Pack is truly blessed by the Spirit Dogs.
